My life

Gymnastics

An other important part of my life is gymnastics. I started as a gymnast when I was 6 years old, and continued until I was 16. In the beginning I was doing artistic gymastics , where I trained in different apparatus;

Vault

Uneven bars

Balance Beam

(young me in competition)

Floor exercise

Artistic gymastics are individually both in training and in competitions, there's only one gymnast in action in one time. I've been to a lot of competitions and camps with "DFI Turn", and though we never were the best, it's memories I'll carry for ever! We've had so much fun!

When I was 13 (I think), I started as an intructor, and I still am. I've been training children (mostly girls) from the age 3 and up to 12, and I think it's a lot of fun, but it's not always an easy job.. :P

When I became older I understood that I should stop with artistic gymnastics, because I wasn't willing to train 10 hours a week any more. School and friends were very importent, and I was going to instruct younger gymnasts. But I couldn't stop doing gymnastics, so I startet TeamGym! In TeamGym the gymnasts are operating in a team, and there are other disciplines. Originally the teams are doing three disciplines; floor, tumbling and trampette, but in our club we were just doing tumbling and trampette. Our team was a mix of boys and girls, and we had a lot of fun and learned a lot! We even took part in NM in these disciplines, but we did everything wrong, and ended up as nr 63 or something. :P

When our coach moved and couldn't instruct us anymore I stopped doing gymnastics, and I missed it a lot. Last week I started training again, this time with an other coach and we're mostly training trampette! It's so much fun! :D I'm looking forward to new happy memories in gymnastics!

This is me practising on a camp in Lom, summer 2004. We were going to have a show later that day. (I was not too good here!! Haha)

My life

School

School of course is an important part of my life, I go to school to get a good education and afterwards a good job (hopefully). At the moment I go to Frogn vgs, my third year as you probably know. I think there are positive and negative sides of going to school here.

I think there are more positive than negative tings to tell, so I'll start with them. The best thing about going to Frogn is that it's very close to my home, it only takes about 10 minutes to walk to school from my mothers house, and about 30 minutes from my fathers. I love that I don't have to take the bus for houres to come to school, it starts early ehough as it is.
Then it is my friends! Because I live in Drøbak I've got a lot of friends at school that I knew from "ungdomsskolen". It's really nice to keep the contact, and have people you know around. In the same time I'm glad there are people from other places studying at Frogn as well, to meet new people is allways fun. In the picture you can see some of my friends on the last day of school before summer in our first year at Frogn vgs. :)
Atmy school every student has access to computers when they're at school, wich makes the shoolwork much easier. I also think that the teachers are talented and that I learn alot! The system called "fagdager" is really great, with only one or two subjects a day. We then don't have to bring a whole lot of books every day, and we've got the time to study the theme in depth.
The school environment is good in every way! And I also like the colourful windows, floors and walls in the building!

There are few negative things to say about Frogn and how it's to go there, but as I mentioned earlier, I think the classes starts too early. I hate to wake up early!
Frogn also is a quite small school, where everyone knows everything that's happening. If you've made a mistake, and someone get to know it, everybody knows about it the next day. Another bad thing about Frogn, I think, is that there are no recycling of garbage there. That is kind of sad when the school is so good in other ways! I belive that if the students are willing to put their litter in the right part of the wastebasket if they only knew that it'll help the school to do something good in the environment.
There are no bell at Frogn that tells us when to go to class. I can't deside if I think that's good or bad, but I think actually most good. It makes us feel more free!

Now you know what I think of my school. I think the positive sides are stronger and more than the negative sides, and I'm really happy to go to this school!
